Uncertainty has become our everyday reality – resilience is no longer a luxury
Resilience means consciously shifting our inner state, adapting, and responding flexibly to change. In today’s fast-moving environment, it’s the capability we need most – especially within organisations.
In 2024, Vitesco Technologies, now part of Schaeffler, faced a double challenge: the industry itself was going through major upheavals, while the acquisition process with Schaeffler had just begun. Many employees were already stretched thin by heavy workloads and continuous change, and the risk of stress and burnout was growing.
At times like this, a crucial question emerges: how can employees be supported and strengthened rather than overwhelmed by uncertainty? How can transformation succeed when it requires people who are clear, calm, and focused?
The answer came in the form of the Resilience Academy – a program designed to go far beyond traditional training. Its mission: systematically build 12 evidence-based resilience skills, foster healthy daily routines, and strengthen emotional stability. At the same time, it created a shared language around resilience, wellbeing, and health – bridging hierarchies and promoting collaboration across the organisation.
Over 1,100 employees embraced this journey: a nine-month, modular learning experience that was scientifically grounded, hands-on, and personally relevant. Through masterclasses, workshops, digital toolkits, and micro-learning units, the programme helped people gain clarity, stability, and confidence exactly where they needed it most.
This case study tells the story of that journey, showing how an organisation, even amid uncertainty and change, can seize the opportunity to cultivate resilience across its workforce.
